Bone Healing Testimonial
The story of Rick (Wave Magazine)
I have been a representative with MediConsult for a year and a half.
The most profound personal experience I have had was when my husband Rick cut into his leg with the chain saw while cutting wood in our bush. I had to rush him to our local hospital where it was determined that he had cut into the tendon and the bone but not totally through either one. After closing up the wound temporarily, he was transported to another hospital where he had to have emergency surgery. The surgery lasted about 1 ½ hrs. Everything went well and was a success. Rick was hospitalized for 2 days. Coming home in a cast, he was supposed to be off work for 4 weeks because of the physical nature of his work.
I applied the mat at regular settings twice a day and used the pad continuously under his leg at an intensity of 400. After 2 days, I removed the cast and he went off to work. Removing the cast was the right thing to do, because the wound was covered with blood and bandages that were still inside the cast. An infection was starting to spread. Rick was still in a bit of pain but nothing that required medication. The wound healed so quickly that I had him stop using the pad. Stitches were hardly noticeable. After 2 weeks, he went to see the surgeon for another x-ray and to have stitches removed. The x-ray technician actually came back into the room to inform Rick that he might have x-rayed the healthy leg. He could not see the slightest sign of tendon damage or missing bone. The stitches were removed and Rick’s leg was completely healed up. Needless to say, his surgeon was quite impressed with his very quick recovery.

My story;
On October 24, 2010 I suffered a 8” spiral fracture of my left tibia, as a result of a mountain bike crush, were my foot didn’t release from the peddle. After a long visit to the hospital, I choose to not have surgery, got a cast, and they sent me home. Met with doctor the next day and was told I would be laid up for 5-6 months for it to heal.
I had been to a class on the benefits of using Magnetic Resonance as a healing tool for the body. I reach out to one of my friends that had a full length pad, and started using two days later. I used the pad three times a day for the next three months. By the middle of January, I was able to start weight barring and slowing working out of the cast. On February 14, I was released, having reached 90% healing. I continued using the pad once a day for a few more months, and on June 2, 2011, I was able to run a Half Marathon, with no problems from my leg.

Notes on Bone Healing
Once a fracture has occurred, the process of healing begins. This is one of the miracles of human nature. In the healing of a fracture, a so-called callus is formed, the replacement tissue whose final structure is not reached until after about 60 days. This ridge can usually be seen on an x-ray for the rest of the person’s life, in some cases it can even be felt through the skin. Magnetic fields can easily and successfully penetrate through a plaster cast and can also be used on fractures using nails and wire without any problem.
The effect of magnetic resonance stimulation (MRS) on bone fracture: MRS promotes the development of callus, i.e., new bone synthesis, influences the parathyroid hormone PTH and thus inhibits the loss of calcium from bone. Piezoelectric effects play an important role. Magnetic resonance stimulation has proven very successful with poorly healing bone fractures.
