Researching a question from a client, I came across this excellent summary from William Pawluk MD:

PEMFs help degenerative disc problems by reducing muscle spasm, relieving pain, reducing inflammation of the nerve being compressed by the disc, and improving circulation to the area. PEMFs allow for daily treatment in the home setting, reducing the need for medications, physical therapy and chiropractic. With some patients the need for these services are completely eliminated. One of the things that I don’t really have a definitive measuring stick for is “mood” using PEMFT. Hello, I have a (much older) couple that bought their Omnium1/iMRS about a month ago. The gentleman (Lyme patient and has had 2 hip replacements and a knee replacement) reported to me this weekend that he is off of all his heavy hitting pain meds, his mood is completely changed and he is pain free! Of course not everyone gets these results as fast as he did but it goes to show you just never know how quickly the results can come, for even a much older person! His wife, who has been in severe systemic pain, multiple serious conditions and has been sick for 40 years is having a different experience but is making good progress! “I just wanted to keep you updated about #iMRS and my sister’s illness (severe autoimmune Polymyositis plus Hashimoto Thyroiditis to the point she was not able to move her neck and role in bed on her own). This is almost 6 weeks she has been using it, twice daily.
Day one: she states she felt something strange happening in her body (could not explain)
Week one: able to move the neck and sit up. Her swallowing problem was gone within on day.
Week 2: she was able to get up, walk with walker. Abdominal discomfort and indigestion are gone.

 I cannot thank you enough for my mat. I am on it at least 6 days a week. I try to leave it at the shop for Pam, Joy, Kelly, Barb, etc, however, I love to have my family on it also.
